An often overlooked great. Hartnell shines throughout, Vicki is a fantastic addition to the cast, whose chemistry with Hartnell is immediately on screen (and behind the scenes) and Ray Barrett gives a fantastic supporting performance. It's bliss, top ten for me. 😊

Superb atmosphere in part two – the scenes in the temple are excellent …. One of my favourites – doesn’t outstay it’s welcome and gets a lot done with a superb cast in its brief running time

I LOVE The Rescue! It's unlike any other story from the Hartnell era. Billy's so good in it, everyone is quite good in it actually, and the climax is kind of ambiguous and weird, which I love. We get Vicki who's a significant upgrade over Susan & that great lead-in to The Romans
